Meet the team…
Samantha Carey (B.Ost)
I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) http://www.osteopathy.org.uk and I am a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London achieving the Bachelor of Osteopathy Degree (B.Ost). Following graduation, I worked for a number of years within several clinics across Essex before setting up my practice in Shenfield in 2012.
I have undertaken post-graduate training in Cranial Osteopathy and completed training in dry needling, also known as medical acupuncture. I have also discovered the benefits of Myofascial Taping, which can have fantastic results on muscle tension & pain relief, amongst other benefits. I pursued my specialist interest in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children, London (http://www.occ.uk.com) where I achieved the Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy. This additional training has enhanced my skills in cranial osteopathy and expanded my experience of paediatric cases, enabling me to offer the most effective treatment to my patients of all ages.
My aim is to work closely with you to get you feeling better and back to doing the things you want to as soon as possible. I am dedicated to continually expanding my knowledge and treatment approaches, enabling me to provide the most effective treatment plan for all my patients. I feel it is important to recognise that we all put our bodies through different stresses and strains so it is vital your treatment is specific to you and your body.
This is why I also feel it is important to provide different approaches to treatment; whether that encompasses gentle stretching, soft tissue or cranial techniques to joint articulation (gentle movement), acupuncture, manipulation and myofascial taping. A combination of these treatment methods could help you and I look forward to working with you soon to get you feeling better. Please feel free to call the clinic if you wish to discuss your symptoms or make an appointment.
I adopt a holistic view point through treatment and advice that aims to restore mobility and balance to your body, enabling you to function better. I have experience of treating a wide range of patients from treating premature babies in London hospitals through to the elderly and including pregnant women, office professionals and sports players to mention a few.
Rayner Wilding (M.Ost)
Rayner also graduated from the European School of Osteopathy. She has previously trained as a Sports, Holistic and Indian Head Masseur. This means that Rayner is able to draw on a vast array of treatment approaches, ranging from manipulation to massage and gentle cranial techniques, in order to tailor a bespoke treatment plan to suit you. Rayner has also completed post- graduate training in dry needling (medical acupuncture) to add to her treatment techniques.
Rayner has lived in Corringham, Essex, since birth and is keen to use her knowledge and skills to improve the health and well being of her community and beyond. She enjoys treating a wide range of patients from babies and pregnant women to sports people and the elderly, and everyone between. Rayner is a black belt in Karate and Ju-Jitsu, having trained since the age of 8. It was through treatment of injuries sustained during competition that she became fascinated by the human body and osteopathy. She found her 4 year Masters degree course to be a life changing experience, albeit challenging, and quotes that the biggest lesson learned is that ‘we care for our cars more than we care for our bodies.’
